We know that high school GPA is a strong predictor of student success at Peru State College. Students that qualify will be guaranteed a renewable tuition award in their official admissions letter by completing an application for admission and submitting an official high school transcript.

Competitive scholarships are subject to availability and are tuition waiver scholarships unless noted otherwise. Competitive scholarships cannot be combined and are available to freshmen who enroll for the fall semester immediately completing high school. Eligible candidates must be degree-seeking and enroll in 12 or more credit hours each semester.
Board of Trustees Scholarship

Nebraska Career Scholarships
Award Amount:         $28,000 ($7,000/yr)
Deadline: December 1
Eligibility:
  1. Majoring in Business, Education, Criminal Justice or Computer and Management Information Systems (CMIS)
  2. GPA of 2.7
  3. Minimum ACT of 18
  4. Non-athlete
  5. Submission of a personal statement found on your PURL page

Corrections Leadership Scholarship
Award Amount:        $15,000/yr

Eligibility:
  1. Full time on campus student (minimum of 12 credits) per each Fall and Spring term
  2. Continued enrollment in the Criminal Justice degree program
  3. Minimum GPA of 2.0 at start of each academic year
  4. Continued eligibility for employment with Tecumseh State Correctional Institute
  5. Submission of a Personal Statement
 
Cooperating Schools Scholarship
Award Amount: Half on-campus tuition waiver renewable for four years
Deadline: January 15
Eligibility:
  1. Eligible Schools for Fall 2023
  2. ACT score of 14 or higher
  3. GPA of 2.5 or higher
  4. Submission of a Personal Statement found on your PURL.

RHOP | Rural Health Opportunities Program
Award Amount: Full Tuition

Clements Band Scholarship Competition
Award Amount: $2,000 over a two year period ($500/semester). A second place award of $500 will also be given on a one-time basis.
Deadline: March 10
Eligibility:
  1. Any high school graduate (age 17 through 24 years of age) who meets Peru State College admissions requirements and has a high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (4.0 being the highest) or its equivalent is eligible to apply.
  2. The eligible applicant must have participated in music during high school.

Athletic Scholarships
Award Amount: Coach’s Discretion
Description: Peru State College athletic teams offer scholarships in the form of tuition and room waivers to program participants for each of the eight athletic teams as well as cheerleading. Interested student athletes should contact the head coach for the sport of interest at 402-872-2350 or athletics@peru.edu.

Art Scholarships
Award Amount: Varies
Description: Scholarships in the form of tuition waivers are available for students who major in art.  Demonstrated ability and department needs determine award recipients and amounts. Music Scholarships
Award Amount: Varies
Description: Music participation scholarships in the form of tuition waivers are available to participants in instrumental and vocal music organizations. An audition is required.  Award amounts are determined by demonstrated ability, musicianship and department needs. Music participation scholarships are available to all college students. Military Service Scholarship
Award Amount: Varies
Deadline: Rolling Award
Eligibility:
  1. Active, Reserved, ROTC Member or received Honorable Discharge and Exhausted GI Bill.
  2. This scholarship will complement but not replace military and veteran education benefits, to include books, room and board.
  3. Not available for military dependents of military personnel.
  4. Scholarship is not automatically renewable, student may reapply annually.
  5. Submission of a Personal Statement

Susan T. Buffett Foundation Scholarship

Details: The Susan T. Buffett Foundation provides scholarships that can be used to cover expenses related to attending college (e.g. tuition and fees, housing, books). The amount of the scholarship varies by institution but is typically equal to the average cost of tuition and fees for a full-time student (15 credits) at that institution.
